Virtual reality solutions are transforming businesses today

At TD SYNNEX we help partners understand what virtual reality is used for, where it delivers measurable value, and how to build scalable virtual reality business opportunities.

By harnessing the power of immersive technology, organisations can create unparalleled experiences for their customers, leading to increased engagement and heightened brand loyalty.

Virtual reality solutions are transforming the way that your customers create, learn, meet and build communities, providing an innovative entry point into the world of virtual reality.

Through virtual reality (VR), Meta is leading the next evolution of connection.

Virtual reality is enabling a more in-depth social presence, which means that businesses can deepen connections to their people, customers and ecosystem.

Through this, they can invest in learning experiences, spark innovation, optimise collaboration and strengthen community.
This applies across all sectors – from smaller businesses wanting to transform the way that they experience meetings, to architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms that use VR to identify stop gaps and issues within their work.

While Meta is transitioning its commercial model, the enterprise VR channel remains a core focus. We are here to guide you through these changes, ensuring a seamless transition to a model that offers greater flexibility and continued support for years to come.

Summary of Meta Strategy Changes

Effective February 20, 2026, Meta is updating its approach to the enterprise market.

Hardware Transition

Sales of dedicated “Commercial SKUs” will conclude. In their place, authorized resellers are now empowered to sell Consumer Meta Quest hardware and accessories directly to B2B customers.

Horizon Managed Services

Commercial sales of these services will stop; however, they will become available for free to eligible business customers.

Support Model

Hardware support will transition to the standard consumer process, while Horizon Managed Services will maintain dedicated enterprise ticketed support.

What Stays the Same: Continuity and Support

Despite these structural changes, the fundamentals of your VR business remain secure:

  • Long-term Support: Meta has committed to supporting Horizon Managed Services until January 4, 2030, providing a clear four-year runway for existing and new deployments.
  • MDM Compatibility: You can continue to use third-party MDM solutions to manage your fleet of devices.
  • B2B Exclusivity: The channel remains protected. Sales of these units are strictly for Commercial Organizations, ensuring that the professional integrator and reseller ecosystem remains the primary gateway for business VR.

Next-generation technology is revolutionising the modern workplace.

Building communities amongst an increasingly hybrid workforce can help to foster a deeper sense of belonging, wherever employees choose to work. By providing their teams with the right collaborative technology, businesses can ensure that productive coworker relationships remain at the forefront of the agenda.

With teams more distributed, cohesion and collaboration is more important than ever.

FAQ: Quick Answers to Common Concerns

Existing Partners: Can I still sell to my enterprise clients?

Yes. You are fully authorized to sell Meta Quest hardware to any “Commercial Organization” for their own use.

Existing Partners: What happens to my existing Horizon licenses?

Existing licenses will continue to function, and starting February 20, 2026, additional licenses will be available for free through the Meta Admin Center.

Is the enterprise VR market shrinking?

On the contrary, this move simplifies the hardware stack to focus on software and service-led growth, where the true value for integrators lies.

What are common VR uses in business?

Virtual reality (VR) uses immersive, computer‑generated environments to simulate real‑world or imagined experiences. VR uses include employee training, safety simulations, product design, remote collaboration and immersive learning experiences.

What are the practical business use cases for VR?

Virtual reality has moved well beyond the gaming floor. Today, it is a strategic business tool delivering measurable outcomes across industries. The most proven enterprise applications include immersive employee training, virtual product demonstrations, remote collaboration, customer service simulation, and virtual events and trade shows.

With 91% of businesses having already adopted or planning to adopt VR or AR technology, the question is no longer whether VR fits your business, it’s where to start.

What is the ROI of implementing VR in business?

The business case for VR is compelling and well-evidenced. Here are the headline numbers:

  • Employees complete VR training 4x faster than classroom-based equivalents, and feel 275% more confident applying skills on the job (PwC).
  • VR training delivers a 76% increase in learning effectiveness
  • Knowledge retention rates reach 80% after one year
  • At scale, VR training reaches cost parity at 375 learners and becomes 52% more cost-effective than classroom training at 3,000+ learners.
  • Companies implementing VR training report up to 300% ROI within the first few implementation phases.

The global VR market reached $67.66 billion in 2025, growing at a 26.8% CAGR – a clear signal that enterprise investment is accelerating, not slowing.

Can VR genuinely replace or enhance traditional training programmes?

Short answer: VR doesn’t replace traditional training – it supercharges it. The data is unambiguous:

  • Speed: Quick-service restaurants cut training time from 30–40 hours to just 3–6 hours using VR. UPS reduced driver training from 8 hours to 2 hours – a 75% reduction.
  • Safety: In manufacturing and industrial settings, VR training increases safety awareness by 30% and has contributed to a 43% reduction in workplace injuries in mining.
  • Consistency: Quality is not dependent on location, trainer availability, or environmental conditions – every learner receives the same high-standard experience.
  • Engagement: VR learners are 3.75x more emotionally connected to content than classroom learners and 4x more focused than e-learning peers.

VR excels where the stakes are high, the scenarios are complex, or scale is a challenge. For relationship-building and cultural onboarding, a hybrid approach, combining VR with in-person elements, consistently delivers the best outcomes.

How does VR support remote collaboration and virtual meetings?

Research shows 66% of participants performed better in VR meetings due to fewer distractions and greater focus.

With hybrid working now the norm, VR is solving a problem that video conferencing never fully addressed: presence. An Accenture study found immersive solutions improve task efficiency by up to 30%.

Companies like Boston Consulting Group, Salesforce, and Trello already use VR for internal meetings and customer engagement.
